    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Milan are negotiating with Galatasaray to let Morata end his loan spell in Turkey, which is supposed to run until January 2026. The Turkish club are unhappy with how the Spaniard is dealing with the situation and mounting pressure to let him go for free. Galatasaray are reportedly willing to negotiate but want half of the €6 million the club paid for the ex-Real Madrid star.

Como have also shown interest in Milan's 23-year-old forward Malick Thiaw and are reportedly ready to offer €25m (£21m/$29m) for him and €9m for Morata. Milan, who are looking to bring in a new striker, want to get the deal done as soon as possible. In a bid to push the move, Morata is also ready to take a pay cut for the deal to go through.

"Morata is our player and we don't want to let him go," said vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu. "Galatasaray doesn't have a single player they would give to anyone for free."

    WHAT NEXT FOR GALATASARAY?

Galatasaray and head coach Okan Buruk want to sign Victor Osimhen permanently after his spectacular loan spell, in which the Nigerian scored 37 goals and provided eight assists, eventually helping the Turkish giants bag a domestic double last season. However, his high wage demands and wish to prioritise a move to the Premier League could hinder Galatasaray's chances.
