Alisson withdraws from Brazil squad and returns to Liverpool following concussion against Colombia with Reds goalkeeper set to undergo further tests

Alisson was forced off in the second half of his team's 2-1 win against Colombia after a clash of heads with Davinson Sanchez.

The Liverpool star has now pulled out of the squad and will return to Merseyside to undergo tests, while his Selecao team-mates go on to face rivals Argentina.

"Alisson Becker has departed the Brazil national team set-up and will return to Liverpool," a statement from Liverpool read. "The goalkeeper was forced off in the second half of his nation's World Cup qualifier with Colombia in the early hours of Friday following a collision. Alisson is travelling back to Merseyside and will undergo assessment from the Reds' medical staff."

The Reds will soon discover the full extent of Alisson's injury and coach Arne Slot will hope to have him available for the Merseyside derby against Everton on April 2.
