    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Reports from Marca have now suggested that Ronaldo is set to officially announce his departure from Al-Nassr on Thursday evening in a press conference held by Faris Najd. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's future destination is still up in the air as he has been linked with a move to the MLS, Brazil, Turkey, Sporting Lisbon, or elsewhere in Saudi Arabia, namely Al-Hilal, who are set to play the Club World Cup this summer.

On the other hand, Al-Nassr have already prepared options to replace Ronaldo at the club, as talkSPORT have claimed that Faris Najd have shown interest in signing Liverpool forward Luis Diaz this summer. The Colombian has been linked with a potential exit this summer from Anfield as Barcelona had been interested in signing the 28-year-old, but have since pulled out of the race.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR RONALDO?

The 40-year-old's reported desire to play in the Club World Cup has been somewhat backed by FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who recently claimed that Ronaldo will be playing the tournament this summer in the United States. However, what the future holds for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner remains unknown at the moment.
