AC Milan aiming to finalise Kyle Walker transfer 'early this week' with Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing key role in talks as first-team role awaits for Man City star alongside Christian Pulisic & Co

Manchester City boss Guardiola dropped a huge bombshell in a recent press conference, revealing that Walker has asked to explore a move away from the Premier League champions. AC Milan have shown the most interest in the veteran defender since the news broke and The Telegraph now claim that the Rosseneri are aiming to finalise a move 'early this week'.

New Milan advisor Ibrahimovic is thought to be the driving force behind the push for Walker and the former Sweden international is more than happy to hand the 34-year-old a two-and-a-half-year deal at San Siro. It is also understood that Walker will not just be there to make up the numbers, he is expected to push for a starting spot and wrestle the right-back position from former Tottenham man Emerson Royal or Davide Calabria.

Walker has recently been welcomed back into his family home with his wife Annie Kilner and reports suggest their marriage could be on the mend. A move to Milan would shake things up again and possibly provide an opportunity to turn a corner both on and off the pitch.

While there seems to be a place at AC Milan for Walker, who could get the chance to link up with USMNT star Christian Pulisic at San Siro, the England international has also been subject to interest from Saudi Arabia. Reports of Inter Milan sniffing around the full-back have also been circulating.
