Our analysis: Form of both teams

Score prediction - West Ham 1-2 Manchester United

Goalscorers Prediction - West Ham: Crysencio Summerville - Manchester United: Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes

West Ham United increased their chances of staying in the league over the weekend as they beat Burnley 2-0 away from home. They’ve recorded three wins across their last four Premier League games, and Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have given themselves a chance. The Hammers are just three points behind 17th-place Nottingham Forest.

Manchester United’s situation has improved as well. They held on to fourth place with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, and have secured four consecutive victories. Michael Carrick is doing an excellent job at Old Trafford, and they’re currently five points ahead of Liverpool in sixth place.

Probable lineups for West Ham vs Manchester United

West Ham expected lineup: Hermansen, Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Disasi, Diouf, Soucek, Potts, Bowen, M. Fernandes, Summerville, Castellanos

Manchester United expected lineup: Lammens, Dalot, Martinez, Maguire, Shaw, Mainoo, Casemiro, Diallo, Fernandes, Mbeumo, Cunha

Five from five for the Red Devils

Manchester United haven’t won five consecutive Premier League games since 2023, and have struggled for a long time. However, the Red Devils have found their stride and recorded some very impressive results since Michael Carrick took charge. It’s no surprise that they’re the favourites as they head to London this week.

While Manchester don’t have any fresh injury concerns, Patrick Dorgu, Mason Mount, and Matthijs de Ligt remain sidelined. Meanwhile, none of West Ham United’s players suffered injuries in their victory against Burnley, but Jean-Clair Todibo is still suspended.

Given United’s form and high confidence, we’re backing them to win this match and continue their streak. West Ham have recorded some good results recently, but were bested by Chelsea the last time they faced strong opposition.

Action at both ends

West Ham have rediscovered their scoring form. They've scored 12 goals in their last six matches, including their FA Cup win over Queens Park Rangers. They’ll fancy their chances of causing problems for the visitors this week.

Meanwhile, United’s defence can still be breached, even during their strong upturn in fortunes. Arsenal and Fulham have scored twice against them recently, and they’ve really struggled on the road this season. Both teams have scored in 92% of the Red Devils’ away games in 2025/26, including all of their last 10.

While United are likely to beat the Hammers, the home side can cause them problems. As a result, this match is going to be very exciting for neutral fans.

Mbeumo to score again

Bryan Mbeumo’s opening goal against Spurs took him into double-figure goals and assists in his debut Premier League campaign at Old Trafford. The Cameroon international has also scored in three of his last four matches, and has proven to be a crucial part of Carrick’s resurgence. It’s unsurprising that he’s the bookies’ favourite to find the net in the capital.

Mbeumo has undoubtedly been United’s signing of the season, and West Ham will know all about the threat he poses. The former Brentford man has recorded four goals and a couple of assists in eight games against the Hammers. He’ll be eager to score his 10th league goal of the season on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, West Hamon are likely to be wary of Crysencio Summerville. He led the Hammers’ recent resurgence, scoring four goals in four games, and really stepped up for Nuno Espírito Santo. However, United’s number 19 is at value to find the net.
