Hull City have reached an agreement to sign Australian international Lucas Herrington from the Colorado Rapids, GOAL can confirm. The 18-year-old World Cup veteran's move will be worth up to $23 million, sources tell GOAL, as Herrington makes the leap to the Premier League after less than one season in Colorado.
Lucas Herrington, 18, has been one of Major League Soccer’s breakout stars this year, emerging as a defensive standout for the Colorado Rapids. His rise has reportedly attracted interest from abroad, including from La Liga champions Barcelona. The center back’s strong form has also earned him a place on Australia’s World Cup roster.
Lionel Messi and Co. remain favorites, but strong starts from Nashville, San Jose and Vancouver have the league nicely poised heading into a long break.
James Rodriguez's brief, underwhelming spell with Minnesota United appears to be nearing an abrupt end.
