Michael Olunga have a rare taste of action in Copa del Rey draw

Michael Olunga made his fifth appearance for the Spanish side, Girona FC in a 1-1 draw with Levante in the Copa del Rey Cup on Tuesday.

The Kenyan International has been confined on the bench for the better part of this season since his move to La Liga from the Chinese Super League last August.

The former Tusker and Gor Mahia striker has so far accumulated only 88 minutes in three league appearances for Girona since his season-long move from China.

But on Tuesday, Olunga had a rare taste of action when he made his second Copa del Rey appearance in a one-all draw with Levante.

Levante progressed to the next round on a 3-1 aggregate having won the opening leg 2-0.

Luis Morales’ 75th-minute strike for Levante cancelled out Johan Mojica’s opener for Girona late in the first half.
