Konyaspor sign Fallou Diagne on free transfer

Turkish Super Lig side Konyaspor have signed Fallou Diagne on a free transfer from Werder Bremen.

The Anatolian Eagle offered the 28-year-old defender a two-year deal with an option for a further year.

Diagne switched to Germany from Rennes in 2016 but was restricted to two German top-flight games before he was shipped out to his former club Metz on a one-and-a-half year loan in 2017.

During his temporary spell in France, the centre-back managed 41 league games and a goal.

However, the Senegalese defender is eager to reignite his career at the Konya Buyuksehir Stadium.

"I am very ambitious. I want to prove myself once more in Konyaspor. I can not wait to go up against your supporters,” Diagne told the club website.

“Due to being in Konya in Turkey and I am extremely happy. I admired the stadium a little while ago. I am sure you will sign great success in this stadium. I send my heartfelt greetings to my fans.”

The former Freiburg player will link up with Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o, Cote d'Ivoire's Moryke Fofana and Mali's Mustapha Yatabare in Riza Calimbay’s team.
