Jorginho posts awesome video of his mum's emotional reaction to his Chelsea move

Jorginho’s £57 million ($86m) move to Chelsea has moved his mother to tears, with the midfielder’s family sharing in the delight of the 26-year-old fulfilling his dreams.

The Italy international has come a long way in a short space of time, with a switch to Stamford Bridge seeing him join up with former manager Maurizio Sarri.

Back in 2010-11, Jorginho made his professional bow in Serie C with Sambonifacese.

He then went on to spend two seasons in the Italian second tier with Verona before helping them to secure promotion to Serie A.

There has been no stopping him from there, with a transfer to Napoli having been earned in 2013.

Five seasons in Naples delivered 160 appearances, while he earned senior international recognition and, in the process, became one of the most sought-after midfielders in Europe.

Chelsea secured his signature back in July, with Premier League champions Manchester City seen off in that transfer battle, and he is preparing for the start of competitive action.

A first piece of silverware will be on the line in Sunday’s Community Shield, before attention switches to Premier League matters.

Jorginho’s family will be cheering him on throughout 2018-19, with a new chapter in England having sparked an emotional reaction from those closest to him.

Jorginho’s post on Instagram reads: “When you realise that every effort was worth it and it wasn’t just a dream.”

He has already caught the eye for Chelsea during their pre-season programme, with Sarri bringing the best out of a player he knows well from their time together at Napoli.

City boss Pep Guardiola has conceded that he would have welcomed the Brazil-born midfielder at the Etihad Stadium, with the Catalan being forced to turn his attention elsewhere.

Chelsea are delighted to have frustrated a rival, while everybody connected with Jorginho appears to be happy with his decision to favour west London over the north west.
