Balotelli would be right to stay at Nice, says Raiola

Mino Raiola believes that there is a strong possibility of striker Mario Balotelli remaining with Nice.

'Donnarumma has cost Milan €100m'

The Italy international striker helped to fire the Allianz Riviera side into the Champions League this season but his contract expires at the end of June, making him a free agent.

Despite reports linking the 26-year-old striker to the likes of Borussia Dortmund, who head coach Lucien Favre rejected to remain on the south coast of France, the agent believes that another year with Nice might be the best move for the attacker.

“I will meet with Nice,” the agent explained to Gazzetta dello Sport. “It’s right if he stays with Favre.”

Raiola also talked up the possibility of the forward returning to the Italy squad if he has a strong season.

“If he scores 20 goals before the World Cup, he deserves to go, but I don’t know what’s going through Gian Piero Ventura’s head.”

Balotelli’s relationship with the Italy boss has been strained, while Raiola has himself been in the news this week, under fire for his handling of Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future, which appears to lie away from AC Milan.
