Everton’s Idrissa Gueye limps off in Chelsea stalemate

Idrissa Gueye limped off injured as Everton held Chelsea to a 0-0 stalemate in Saturday’s English Premier League tie at Goodison Park.

The Senegal midfielder looked to have pulled his hamstring in the second half of the encounter and made way for DR Congo youngster Beni Baningime in the 50th minute.

Gueye had been on every of Everton’s 19 starting lineup in the Premier League this season and leaving the pitch against the Blues was his fourth time.

However, his absence did not have a negative effect on the Toffees as his replacement Baningime held his own in the midfield against the likes of Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante to ensure Sam Allardyce unbeaten run at the helms of the Goodison Park outfit continues.

This was the third time Everton will make a substitution in the 50th minute this season and whether the former Aston Villa man would be fit for Boxing Day's visit to West Bromwich Albion is yet to be known.
