He will feature for the reigning Finnish champions for 12 months with an option for another year should he impress at the Telia 5G –areena.

“Nice to come to the Club. The sun shines and is a good sign. I'm going to do a lot of goals,” said Macauley.

HJK’s director of football Juno Rantala is pleased with the arrival of the 27-year-old to the club as they prepare for next season.

“Chrisantus is a very good striker who can play on the ground too,” Rantala told club website.

“Macky has done good things in quite a lot of clubs and we believe that HJK is an environment in which he is able to develop further.

“In this way, we get more competition and alternatives to our attacking department, and of course our team is already taking shape ahead of next season. In addition, Macky is a positive and cheerful person, which is always a good thing.”
