On the back of its fourth Premier League championship in five years that eased the pain of another high-profile elimination from a deep Champions League run, Manchester City initiated significant changes heading into the 2022-2023 EPL season.
The mass exodus does not leave Pep Guardiola’s Sky Blues shorthanded, though; they said goodbye to major pieces of their elite run like Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus but injected more elite talent with game-breaking additions like striker Erling Haaland and potential breakout 22-year-old Julian Alvarez.
Given this team’s ability to shift its chess pieces with little concern for bottoming out of at least the Premiership’s UCL picture, the oddsmakers’ overwhelming confidence in yet another title-level season shouldn’t surprise us football bettors.

City saw two of its top distributors rank in the top 10 of the “big chances created” category, per Fotmob.com: De Bruyne (19) ranked second; Jack Grealish (14) finished tied for third.
