Latest Premier League Betting: Manchester City title favourites after Liverpool fail to beat West Ham

The Premier League title race blew wide open on Monday night as Liverpool recorded their second 1-1 draw in a row to allow Manchester City back in the hunt.

Sadio Mane’s opener was cancelled out just six minutes later by Michail Antonio after some slack defending – a common theme which saw the Reds concede to Leicester last week after switching off at the back.

Paired with Man City’s 3-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday, the gap at the top has narrowed to just three points and 888Sport actually make the holders 9/10 (1.90) to retain their title.

Liverpool have been pushed out to 11/10 (2.10) after being 33/100 (1.33) just last week, and this is the first time since Boxing Day that they have not been odds-on.

The Reds had been seven points clear for most of that time but had played before City each weekend on most of those occasions.

They did have a chance to make it seven last week when Newcastle United stunned City 2-1 but Jurgen Klopp’s men failed to beat Leicester the day after – despite taking the lead - and the gap only became five.

That was then shortened to three points on Monday after the Reds could not beat the Hammers at the London Stadium, casting doubt on their title credentials.

Those back-to-back stalemates represent the first times this season Liverpool have not beaten a side outside the top six and with City not taking maximum points either, it could scarcely have come at a worse time.

Both sides have to travel to Manchester United in the coming weeks and with the Red Devils seemingly rejuvenated under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Red Devils could have a big say on which of their rivals the trophy ends up at.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have been quietly going about their business despite losing Harry Kane and Dele Alli to injury and now sit just five points off the top, with 888Sport making them 16/1 (17.0).
