Eden Hazard believes he is fully recovered from ankle surgery and is now focused on the present and future at Chelsea.

The Belgium international saw his start to the 2017-18 campaign delayed after being forced under the knife.

He underwent surgery in July, leading to him missing a Community Shield defeat to Arsenal and the opening three games of Chelsea’s Premier League title defence.

Hazard was eased back into the fold by Antonio Conte once back to fitness, and the 26-year-old feels he is now firing on all cylinders once more after netting an important winner against Bournemouth in his most recent outing.

Asked by Chelsea TV whether his fitness issues are now behind him, Hazard said: "Yeah for sure, definitely.

“I’m training hard, the injury is the past. I'm fully ready for the next game, I just want to play.

"A big week is coming, so it was important also for the confidence to stay high, after the game against Watford, to win at Bournemouth.

"We are full of confidence now, two big games in Champions League and Premier League. And we are ready to play both."

Chelsea will need Hazard to be at his talismanic best in their next two outings as they prepare to take in tough tests at home and abroad.

A Champions League clash away at Roma lies in store on Tuesday, before the Blues return to domestic competition on Sunday with a visit from fellow title hopefuls Manchester United.

Heading into the next international break with momentum building is crucial for Conte’s side, as they have fallen nine points adrift in the battle for Premier League supremacy.

They also have further tests awaiting once their players return from duty with their respective countries, with three successive away games set to take them to West Brom, Qarabag and Liverpool.
