Euro 2020 Betting: Germany 15/2 to win Low's last tournament as manager

Joachim Low will leave his post as Germany manager after Euro 2020 this summer and bet365 make it 15/2 (8.50) that he signs off in style by winning the tournament.

Although he has never won the European Championship, the 61-year-old did lead his country to the final in 2008 and the semi-finals in both 2012 and 2016.

Low will have one last shot at leading the nation to a third major trophy under his tenure, having also lifted the World Cup in 2014 and the Confederations Cup three years later.

However, it is fair to say that things have gone somewhat downhill since 2017, with Germany finishing bottom of their group in the 2018 World Cup before repeating the feat in the inaugural Nations League.

They did ease through their Euro 2020 qualifying group, topping Group C with seven wins from eight games, but Low’s men collected just nine points from their six 2020-21 Nations League games and suffered an ignominious 6-0 defeat in Spain in the final game.

The 15/2 (8.50) about them winning Euro 2020, which makes them fifth-favourites, comes as a result of that poor form combined with their group opponents.

Indeed, Germany are in Group F along with Portugal, France and Hungary – arguably the ‘Group of Death’ – and bet365 offer 13/10 (2.30) that they manage to top it as well as just 1/9 (1.11) that they qualify from it, with three countries from it potentially reaching the last 16.

As world champions, it is no surprise to see Les Bleus 23/20 (2.15) to win that particular group and 1/10 (1.10) to qualify from it.

France, though, are only third-favourites with bet365 to win Euro 2020, priced at 6/1 (7.0) to repeat their feat of being both World Cup champions and European champions at the same time, having also done so when they won Euro 2000.

England have market favouritism at 5/1 (6.0) as they chase a maiden European Championship trophy, largely thanks to their kind group of Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic.

Belgium, who beat the Three Lions twice at the last World Cup, are 11/2 (6.50) whilst Spain are available at 13/2 (7.50), Netherlands 8/1 (9.0) and holders Portugal 10/1 (11.0).
