England vs Germany Betting Tips: Sterling and Havertz feature in 75/1 Bet Builder

The headline last-16 match of Euro 2020 takes place on Tuesday when England face Germany at Wembley Stadium.

It has been 11 years since these two nations last met in a major tournament and it was Joachim Low’s men who triumphed that day, winning 4-1 in the Round of 16 of the 2010 World Cup.

Much has changed during that time, though, and Betfair Sportsbook make England 31/20 (2.55) favourites to claim victory inside 90 minutes with Germany out at 2/1 (3.0).

Using Betfair Sportsbook’s Bet Builder, which allows users put multiple selections from the same game into a single bet, Goal’s tipster has come up with a 75/1 (76.0) longshot consisting of Raheem Sterling to score and Kalvin Phillips & Kai Havertz to get booked.

The Three Lions have scored only two goals at Euro 2020 so far and both of those have come from Sterling in 1-0 victories.

Although his performances have generally left something to be desired, the Manchester City man has at least provided the golden touch in front of goal with winning strikes against Croatia and Czech Republic.

Given that Germany have already conceded five goals in the tournament, including two against Hungary, England will hope to be afforded plenty of opportunities in the final third.

In terms of discipline, Gareth Southgate’s men actually have the best record in the competition with just one yellow card to their name.

This stat is all the more impressive considering Kalvin Phillips has committed seven fouls - more than all but seven players at Euro 2020 - and the Leeds United midfielder looks a prime candidate to finally get booked.

For Germany, Kai Havertz has also managed to make seven fouls despite being an attacking player, and was cautioned in his country’s 4-2 win over Portugal.

With England dangerous on the counter and having drawn six yellow cards in Euro 2020 already, Havertz could find his name in the book once again.

Referee Danny Makkelie has only taken charge of two games at Euro 2020 but has handed out seven cautions so far, whilst the Dutchman also showed the yellow card on an incredible 42 occasions in eight Champions League matches during 2020-21.

Odds correct at the time of writing. Please gamble responsibly.
