Betting Tips for Today: Bournemouth look great value to see off sorry Southampton

Manchester United's trip to Chelsea will understandably dominate Saturday's Premier League coupon.

The best value selection though, comes at 3pm as Bournemouth take on Southampton at the Vitality Stadium.

888Sport are 26/25 (2.04) about the Cherries winning the game and that looks a huge price based on what we've seen from these sides so far this term.

An early red card for Watford was a key factor in Bournemouth's 4-0 win at Vicarage Road last time out but the visitors had already gone 1-0 up at that stage.

Such an emphatic performance is far from a one-off either. Eddie Howe's side have hit 16 goals in eight matches this term - that's more than Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United.

Their defence has been a cause for concern - 12 goals conceded isn't ideal - but they have the firepower to blow teams away if their attack clicks into gear, especially against poorer opposition.

Southampton would certainly fall into that category. Mark Hughes guided them to safety last season but six defeats from eight matches has continued a worrying trend that has developed at the club.

They finished just one place outside the relegation zone and the squad appears to be destined for another tough battle this time around.

This fixture last season ended 1-1 and another draw here is 5/2 (3.50). 888Sport price the away win at 14/5 (3.80) but it's tough to make a case for that outcome given the poor showings from Southampton thus far.

The visitors have scored just six Premier League goals this campaign and Bournemouth's dynamic attack should prove far too much for them to handle. The opportunity to take 26/25 (2.04) about a fourth win in five top-flight matches looks a great bet with 888Sport.

The Cherries seem happy to go toe-to-toe with teams, backing their forwards to ensure they come out on top. That open approach could see them come unstuck on plenty of occasions against better teams but it's difficult to envisage the visiting side capitalising often enough to keep up.
