    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The move is part of an effort to comply with profit and sustainability regulations (PSR) as United were fined £257,000 last year after breaking UEFA's restrictions by overspending in recent transfer windows. The Red Devils are confident of meeting the Premier League's PSR rules this year.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

United started the review, which is being run by specialist consultants Interpath, recently and the report adds it will take several weeks. Although money spent and used on transfer fees will not be part of the review, any cost-cutting measures they take will have an effect on how much money United can invest in the squad.

    WHAT NEXT FOR UNITED?

While the Red Devils continue to look into new ways of saving money, they will hope coach Erik ten Hag and his team can finish as high up the Premier League table as possible. They are currently sixth in the table, nine points behind Tottenham.
