  • Bellingham on a tear at Real
  • Mbappe set to join him in Madrid
  • Haaland transfer would be "crazy", says Ronaldo
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Norwegian striker has taken the Premier League by storm since joining Manchester City in the summer of 2022, breaking countless records on the way to a treble-winning campaign last term. But despite quickly becoming a City legend, Haaland has refused to rule out rumours links to Madrid, saying in a recent interview "you never know".

  • WHAT RONALDO SAID

One man who is hoping to see that move come to fruition is Brazil legend Ronaldo, as he told the Daily Mail: "Real Madrid's policy is to have the best players in the world. Haaland is one of the best players in the world. Everyone wants to have Haaland. He is at an unbelievable club. City are doing an amazing job, I think he is very happy there at the moment. But, we will see. I hope we can see all of those players together in the one club.

"It will remind me of the Galacticos if they all [Haaland, Mbappe and Bellingham] do end up at Real Madrid. If it happens [them all signing for Real Madrid], it's going to be crazy. Watching Real Madrid playing with all of those players together. It will be an unbelievable team that will achieve remarkable things. But I think it's going to be a great challenge for Carlo Ancelotti to manage all of those players. But, putting good players together is easier than putting bad players together. It won't be too much of a problem for the coach."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

While Haaland's transfer seems at least a season away, one man who looks to be heading to the Spanish capital is Kylian Mbappe. The mercurial French forward is set put an end to years of speculation by leaving Paris Saint-Germain when his contract runs out in the summer, as he reportedly accepted a lower salary offer to force through a move to Real. Indeed, PSG boss Luis Enrique has already started to prepare for life without Mbappe in recent games, and he sent a cryptic message to the 25-year-old which all but guarantees his move away.

    DID YOU KNOW?

Ronaldo was also incredibly complimentary about Bellingham's start to life in Spain. And with 20 goals and nine assists in 31 matches for Madrid this campaign, the Brazilian feels he can make a huge difference to England's chances at Euro 2024. He added on that tournament: "I have to say, England for the last five years have been playing really well. They were a little bit unlucky at the World Cup in Qatar. I think the England team have a very good chance at the Euros."

    WHAT NEXT FOR HAALAND?

Fresh off the back of a pulsating 1-1 draw with title rivals Liverpool on Sunday - which was certainly not lacking in controversy - City and Haaland will already be in preparation mode for their FA Cup quarter-final matchup against Newcastle. Pep Guardiola was dealt a blow for that clash after Ederson was confirmed to be sidelined for up to a month earlier on Monday.
