Martin Odegaard injured?! Arsenal handed major scare as captain is withdrawn in first-half of Leeds clash with new £60m signing Eberechi Eze watching on

The Gunners were forced into making an early change midway through the first half when captain Odegaard was on the receiving end of a challenge from Leeds midfielder Anton Stach. The tackle looked innocuous but Odegaard winced in pain as he tumbled to the floor before being replaced by Ethan Nwaneri.

Arsenal suffered a further blow in the second half when Bukayo Saka also had to be replaced with a suspected hamstring injury. The England international felt the issue immediately and signalled to the substitutes bench before being replaced by Leandro Trossard.

Time will tell whether Odegaard and Saka have sustained serious injuries or not, but the signing of Eberechi Eze may have come at the right time for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta's men confirmed the arrival of Eze, 27, from Crystal Palace just before their home clash against Leeds got under way.

Arsenal face a nervous wait on Odegaard and Saka's fitness ahead of a trip to title rivals Liverpool on August 31, with Eze waiting in the wings to potentially make his debut for the club.
