Man Utd, Chelsea and Bayern battling to land Mike Maignan as AC Milan contract talks hit roadblock

The Frenchman wants to stay at AC Milan, but the two parties have not yet come to a renewal deal. With his current contract with AC Milan expiring in 2026, Maignan is requesting a substantial pay rise, however, the two sides are still quite some ways away from reaching an agreement according to FootMercato. The report suggests that the three aforementioned sides will be gunning for the former Lille star in the summer but could have to cash out around €70m (£60m/$75m) to prise the keeper away from San Siro.

PSG are in the race for yet another AC Milan goalkeeper after Gianluigi Donnarumma failed to impress new boss Luis Enrique, the Italian shot-stopper was also sent off against Le Havre with backup goalkeeper, Arnau Tenas impressing in the game. Bayern, on the other hand, are looking to replace an ageing Manuel Neuer.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are looking for new signings after their signing of Andre Onana from Inter Milan fell flat with the Cameroonian failing to impress under Erik ten Hag.

Maignan is the only goalkeeper in the top five leagues to give at least one assist in three consecutive seasons, he has also achieved the most assists by a keeper since the 2004/05 season as per Opta.

The report has suggested that the keeper wants to stay at the club, therefore, trying to lure him away from Italy may very well cost the buying club more than just a big transfer fee.
