Ex-Chelsea boss to manage Christian Pulisic at AC Milan? USMNT star sees Antonio Conte emerge as fan favourite to succeed Stefano Pioli

Serious questions are being asked of Stefano Pioli’s future at San Siro, with the expectation being that he will – despite being a Serie A title-winning tactician – be relieved of his duties at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

If Pioli were to be moved on, then a prominent position in Italian football would open up. Speculation has already begun regarding who Milan could turn to. Supporters are making it clear who their choice would be, with Conte’s historical ties to arch-rivals Inter and Juventus being put to one side.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport: “No other coach is as popular as Conte for Milan fans. Many believe that with him, the Rossoneri would be title contenders again and it doesn’t matter if he won the last titles with Juventus and Inter.”

Milan are said to view Conte as a “guarantee of competitiveness”, having struggled to put themselves in contention for domestic honours this season. It would, however, be interesting to see where Pulisic and fellow USMNT star Yunus Musah fit into the former Chelsea and Tottenham manager’s plans – with both having been snapped up in the summer of 2023 by Pioli.
