    The Ballon d'Or nominees have been announced, along with those who are up for the best male team coach and best female team coach. The likes of Emma Hayes and Sarina Wiegman, who manage the USMNT and England respectively, are up for the latter, while Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso and Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti are among the candidates for the former.

It remains to be seen if Alonso will be able to replicate Leverkusen's success last season after their unbeaten season, or whether he will miss out; Hayes, after her move from Chelsea to the USMNT, will hope to cap her switch with a personal trophy win.
