Costa Rica Copa America 2024 squad: Which Los Ticos players are in the roster?

Full list of players Costa Rica will take to the 2024 Copa America in the USA.

Costa Rica will be one of the 16 participants at the Copa America in the USA this year.

Although Costa Rica are not a member of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), the confederation's limitation to ten member associations has led to the regular inclusion of guest nations since 1993. Costa Rica have participated in the Copa América four times, making it to the quarter-finals on one of those occasions.

The 2016 Copa América Centenario was a joint effort between CONCACAF and CONMEBOL, and Costa Rica earned their spot by winning the 2014 Copa Centroamericana. They also secured qualification for the 2024 tournament through the qualifying playoffs.

    GOALKEEPERS

    There are doubts about who will be Costa Rica's goalkeepers at the Euros. The experienced Keylor Navas, with over 100 caps to his name, has announced his retirement before the tournament.

    Francisco Calvo, Juan Pablo Vargas, Joseph Mora, Julio Cascante and Fernan Faerron will all be lining up to be part of Costa Rica's 5-man defence at the Euros.

    With over 25 goals in over 100 appearances, Joel Campbell is likely to be the most experienced pick in midfield for Costa Rica at Euro 2024.

    Ariel Lassiter and Alvaro Zamora should have the wide areas covered, whereas the likes of Elias Aguilar and Orlando Galo should provide plenty of support in the central midfield.

    Anthony Contreras and Manfred Ugalde are the front-runners to lead Costa Rica's attack in the European Championship in June.

    EXPECTED XI

    Costa Rica are expected to name a strong 5-3-2 lineup, with the available players at their disposal.

    Keylor Navas will start in goal, behind a defence featuring the likes of Francisco Calvo, Juan Pablo Vargas, Joseph Mora, Julio Cascante and Fernan Faerron. Joel Campbell, Ariel Lassiter and Alvaro Zamora look set for the midfield.

    Anthony Contreras and Manfred Ugalde are set to line up in the final third to score goals.
