Our analysis: Form of both teams
Score prediction - Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool
Goalscorers prediction - Tottenham: Richarlison - Liverpool: Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak
Pressure is mounting on Thomas Frank at Tottenham Hotspur after their latest result, a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Nottingham Forest. That loss made it four defeats in seven games across all competitions. They’ve only won three of their last 11 matches. Spurs find themselves in 11th place in the Premier League as we head into Christmas. Their defensive issues are becoming increasingly concerning.
As for Liverpool, they’re finally starting to find a bit of form. They’re now on a five-game unbeaten run. Victories over Inter Milan and Brighton & Hove Albion have been a real confidence boost. The Reds could go as high as fourth with a win this weekend, provided other results go their way.
Probable lineups for Tottenham vs Liverpool
Tottenham expected lineup: Vicario, Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Spence, Palhinha, Bentancur, Odobert, Simons, Kudus, Richarlison
Liverpool expected lineup: Alisson, Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez, Gravenberch, Jones, Mac Allister, Wirtz, Isak, Ekitike
The Reds have turned a corner
Liverpool’s 2025/26 season has had its ups and downs. However, the team seem to be getting back on track. They may have suffered a few bad results over the last six weeks or so, but they’ve also picked up some notable wins. Victories over Aston Villa, Real Madrid and Inter all stand out in what has been a challenging campaign up to now.
The Reds will be without Mohamed Salah after he travelled to the African Cup of Nations. However, Conor Bradley returns following a suspension in the Brighton win. Meanwhile, Joe Gomez and Dominik Szoboszlai picked up injuries against the Seagulls, and the former will probably be unavailable. Szoboszlai could still be available.
Despite these issues, Arne Slot and his side could triumph in London. Liverpool’s current form gives them an edge, especially against a Spurs team struggling for consistency. Several teams have already taken points at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season, so home advantage isn’t as significant.

Action at both ends
Tottenham are dealing with a long list of absentees, which makes the job difficult for their manager. The likes of James Maddison, Destiny Udogie and Dominic Solanke are sidelined long-term. Pape Matar Sarr has joined Senegal for AFCON. However, they still have attacking threats up top.
Spurs have only failed to score twice in their 12 home games across all competitions. Even when losing, they usually find the net. The Forest defeat was a rare exception, and Frank will be desperate to see some sort of response.
Both sides have plenty of attacking talent they can call upon, and neither can consider their defence watertight. The two managers are likely to find plenty of ways to exploit each other. We expect to see action at both ends in this one.
- Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool Bet 2: Both teams to score at odds of 1.60 on Betway
Liverpool’s man in form
Some of Liverpool’s new signings have faced scrutiny this season. However, one that cannot be criticised is Huge Ekitike. Despite the club’s troubles, he’s already reached double figures for goals and has stepped up in recent fixtures. The Frenchman has four in his last two Premier League games. He has been a key figure for the reigning champions.
The bookies understandably have him down as the most likely goalscorer for this one, followed by Alexander Isak and then Spurs’ Richarlison. It’s not hard to see why, especially with his current run of form. His confidence must be sky-high.
The visitors are likely to come out on top in this clash. Ekitike will probably have a big role to play if they do.
