Mario Vuskovic received a rapturous reception at Volksparkstadion on Tuesday as he took part in Hamburg SV training for the first time since November 2022. Around 7,000 supporters gathered to welcome back the 24-year-old Croatian defender, who remains determined to rebuild his career after serving a four-year suspension for an alleged doping violation.
David Alaba has emerged as a surprise target for Hamburg SV as the Bundesliga strugglers desperately search for defensive reinforcements following a calamitous start to the domestic campaign. The decorated Austrian defender remains unattached after departing Real Madrid, clearing the path for an immediate free-transfer swoop outside the window.
