Wifred Zaha scores first goal for Ivory Coast

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has scored his first goal for Ivory Coast in only his second outing.

The attacker was amongst the scorers as the Elephants coasted to a 3-0 win over a hapless Uganda in a friendly match played on Wednesday.

This was the attacker’s second appearance for the African champions after he switched his allegiance from England ahead of the kick off of the Africa Cup of Nations this weekend.

The 24-year-old grabbed an assist after coming on as a substitute in the 2-1 win against Sweden on Sunday and followed that up with a goal against the Cranes who are returning to the tournament after a long time.

It was a typical Zaha goal as he showed good pace to burst through the defence before slotting a neat finish past the goalkeeper.

Aston Villa attacker Jonathan Kodjia opened the scoring in the 51st minute before Zaha’s second.

Serge Aurier added Ivory Coast's third to seal the win for Michel Dussuyer’s men to see them head to Gabon in good form.

The defending champions will kick-off their Afcon campaign with a clash against Togo on Monday while Uganda will take on Ghana a day later.
