Chelsea dismantled AFC Bournemouth 5-1 at Stamford Bridge in a dominant display of attacking efficiency. A historic start and a second-half brace from Joao Pedro secured a comprehensive victory for Xabi Alonso's side.

Chelsea blew Bournemouth away in a historic start at Stamford Bridge, racing into a two-goal lead before the clock had even hit the three-minute mark. The Blues returned from the international break in devastating form, leaving their visitors stunned in west London.

Xabi Alonso has robustly defended Cole Palmer after England manager Thomas Tuchel suggested the playmaker misses too many international matches. The Chelsea boss insisted Palmer remains fully committed to representing his country whenever fit.

Xabi Alonso has confirmed midfielder Moises Caicedo is fully fit to return against Bournemouth following an extended break. However, Chelsea suffered a blow with winger Jamie Gittens ruled out for several weeks due to an ankle injury.
