Fluminense midfielder Andre has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the January transfer window, with Manchester United and Liverpool both keen on the 22-year-old. However, the two Premier League giants have been overtaken in the race to sign Andre by Fulham, according to the Evening Standard. Fulham chief executive Alistair Mackintosh flew to Brazil for talks last week over a £30 million ($37m) move.

Beating the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool to Andre would be a massive coup for Fulham. The Red Devils have targeted the youngster as a potential replacement for Casemiro, who has struggled for form in his second season at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, Liverpool made contact with Fluminense for the midfielder in the summer and were told Andre would stay until the end of the year but the club were willing to talk about a potential transfer "in December."

Andre was part of the Fluminense side that beat Boca Juniors 2-1 to lift the Copa Libertadores for the first time in their history in October. The win means the Brazilian side will now play in the Club World Cup in December alongside European champions Manchester City.

The Brazilian season is due to end in early December and it seems as though Andre will then try to seal a move to the English top flight. Fulham have recently handed Silva a new three-year deal at the club, after he rejected approaches from Saudi clubs, and are expected to back him in the transfer market.
