Mary Earps set to win another award? Lionesses goalkeeper named in top three for The Best FIFA Women's Goalkeeper

Earps has been named as one of three finalists for FIFA's The Best Goalkeeper Award. The stopper is in contention along with Spain and Barcelona's Catalina Coll as well as Australia's No. 1 Mackenzie Arnold. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in London on 15 January 2024. All three players starred at the Women's World Cup in the summer. WHAT HAPPENED?

Earps has already picked up a host of individual awards after shining for the Lionesses and Manchester United. She has been named England Women’s Player of the Year, claimed the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/mary-earps-lionesses-man-utd-goalkeeper-katarina-johnson-thompson-cricketer-tammy-beaumont-2023-award/blt7b13d6df9747af17#csd6a8025cbb94f78d" target="_blank">Sportswomen of the Year prize</a> at the British Sports Journalism Awards as well as the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/lionesses-mary-earps-hilarious-reaction-bbc-women-footballer-of-the-year-2023/bltf47107f3e93cfeb7" target="_blank">BBC Women's Footballer of the Year 2023</a>. The stopper has also been nominated for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Earps told the BBC how her family reacted to news of her nomination: "I texted my mum and dad straight away. They humbly replied with just 'Well done'. It was a standard Earps family reply - super chilled.”

WHAT MARY EARPS SAID

Earps will also be aiming to add to her collection of trophies with club side United. The Red Devils are facing some crunch fixtures with Leicester City up next in the League Cup before a visit from Liverpool in the Women's Super League.
