The England international endured a nightmare family holiday on the Greek island of Mykonos in the summer of 2020. Maguire was arrested on the back of an incident that occurred during that vacation.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
He was found guilty of assaulting police officers and attempted bribery following an alleged brawl, with the former Red Devils captain being handed a 21-month suspended sentence. He has always strenuously denied the allegations and saw said verdict overturned on appeal.
Another potential hearing in March 2025 was also scrapped, but the Daily Mail reports that all concerned will try again on October 8. Maguire will not need to attend court in person, meaning that he could link up with England if called upon by Thomas Tuchel for meetings with Wales and Latvia in October.
WHAT NEXT FOR MAGUIRE?
Maguire is in the United States with the Red Devils on their pre-season tour. He made that trip a day later than the rest of Ruben Amorim’s squad, but that was due to a fitness issue and is being managed carefully ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.
