Barcelona have stepped up their pursuit of Brazilian talent after scouting director Joao Amaral was spotted monitoring Arthur Dias in Curitiba. The 19-year-old central defender has established himself as one of South America's most exciting prospects following a meteoric rise at Athletico Paranaense and a shock call-up to the senior national team.
Athletico Paranaense defender Leo Derik has been sentenced to 13 years in prison following his conviction on two counts of rape involving a former partner. The ruling was handed down by a court in Curitiba regarding events from 2024. Although facing a lengthy sentence, the 21-year-old footballer will remain free pending his appeal.
Santos head coach Cuca has confirmed he will hold a private meeting with Neymar to address the forward's worsening disciplinary record. The Brazilian superstar was forced to watch from the sidelines as his team suffered a damaging defeat in his absence.
