Sunday sets the stage for a fascinating clash as the Denver Broncos (2-2) march into Lincoln Financial Field to square off with the unbeaten Philadelphia Eagles (4-0). Philly has flown out of the gates with four straight wins, and they'll be eager to keep that streak alive in front of their home crowd.
Fangio's schemes are the stuff of nightmares for even veteran signal-callers. His trademark two-high shell disguises coverages like a magician hides his tricks, forcing quarterbacks to second-guess everything they see pre-snap. For Nix, who's been fearless early in his pro journey, this matchup will test not only his arm but his instincts and composure.
The rookie's legs have been his secret weapon — he's racked up rushing totals of 18, 20, and 33 yards in the opening three contests before Monday's blowout win over Cincinnati limited him to just seven on the ground. Still, Nix ranks fifth among all quarterbacks in rushing attempts per game and sits inside the top 10 in designed runs. His knack for slipping out of collapsing pockets has kept drives alive and defenses honest, and he'll need every bit of that escapability against an Eagles front that loves to bring the heat.
To the Broncos' credit, their offensive line has done a solid job keeping their young passer upright. But against Philly’s relentless pass rush, Nix won't have the luxury of time. As he scans for his top targets, those windows will close faster than ever, forcing him to rely on that trademark mobility to improvise and extend plays.
The Eagles, meanwhile, haven't faced a quarterback with this kind of dual-threat dynamism yet. That should be a flashing red light for Fangio's crew: contain Nix, or pay the price. And while all eyes will be glued to the young quarterback, there's another heavyweight duel worth watching — Patrick Surtain II, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, squaring off against A.J. Brown. The Eagles receiver made headlines after venting about his limited touches last week.

Philadelphia Eagles team news
Tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) sat out Wednesday after posting a strong four-catch, 37-yard, two-touchdown outing in Tampa. Goedert already missed Week 2 with a knee issue, though it’s unclear if this is the same problem flaring up again.
The Eagles did get most of their roster on the field, but several key names were limited. Linebacker Nakobe Dean (knee) was scaled back, while defensive tackle Jalen Carter (shoulder), corner Adoree' Jackson (groin), and tackle Lane Johnson (shoulder), who left Sunday's win banged up, were all limited participants.
The Eagles may be undefeated, but their air attack has been sputtering like an old engine. They're averaging just 138 passing yards per game, which is downright anemic for a supposed Super Bowl contender. Some will argue it’s by design — after all, they've got the ground game to bully teams — but against Denver, that excuse doesn’t fly. The Broncos have shown they can choke out the run, allowing under 100 yards per game on the ground. Just ask the Bengals, who got stuffed for 53 rushing yards on Monday, or Jim Harbaugh's run-obsessed Chargers, who barely scraped together 106 the week before.
That means the onus falls squarely on QB Jalen Hurts, who has thrown for 609 yards while completing 69.3% of his passes. Saquon Barkley has been the workhorse with 237 rushing yards, while DeVonta Smith leads the receiving corps with 17 catches for 158 yards and a lone touchdown. On defense, Zack Baun has been everywhere, piling up 30 tackles (19 solo) and snagging an interception, while Adoree’ Jackson has been their most dangerous pass rusher with two sacks.

Denver Broncos team news
As for Denver, the formula is simple: let the defense grind this into a slugfest and hope Bo Nix can do just enough. The sophomore quarterback has flashed promise but hasn’t found week-to-week consistency, racking up 861 passing yards with a 65.7% completion rate. On the ground, J.K. Dobbins has carried the load with 323 rushing yards, while Courtland Sutton has been Mr. Reliable — 18 receptions, 266 yards, and three scores.
The Denver Broncos head into Week 5 practice with a relatively clean injury sheet, though they did have one key absence. Tight end Nate Adkins (concussion) was the only Bronco sidelined on Wednesday. While his stat line against Cincinnati wasn't flashy, two grabs for five yards, Adkins' real value came as a punishing lead blocker, logging 34 snaps in the win. If he can't make the trip to Philly, Sean Payton's offense will be missing a glue guy who quietly keeps things moving.
Elsewhere, Jonah Elliss (thumb) and Marvin Mims Jr. (hip/ankles) were limited participants, while edge rusher Nik Bonitto (wrist) and linebacker Alex Singleton (thumb), a familiar face to Eagles fans, were full-go.

Eagles vs Broncos Fantasy Football
Jalen Hurts (22.4 projected W5 fpts) and the Eagles heard all the chatter after their dramatic Week 3 comeback, including Hurts' own words about the team playing "not to lose." On Sunday, Philly flipped the script, coming out swinging with an aggressive approach that should quiet some of those critics.
From a fantasy standpoint, Hurts remains golden. His legs and red-zone prowess give him one of the safest weekly floors in the league, and this matchup sets him up to keep stacking points.
On the other sideline, Bo Nix (16.6 projected W5 fpts) reminded everyone why he still carries that boom-or-bust label. Against a soft Cincinnati defense, the rookie carved them up, finishing as QB6 with 25.7 fantasy points. That said, he's still living in QB2 territory, a guy you start based on matchup rather than blind faith.
Denver's defense has been a rollercoaster: they clamped down Cameron Ward and Jake Browning but got roasted by Daniel Jones and Justin Herbert, both tossing for 300-plus. If that inconsistency shows up again, this could be the perfect spot for Hurts to air it out at home and remind everyone why he's still one of the NFL's most dangerous dual-threats.
It might finally be time to have some uncomfortable talks about Saquon Barkley (14.9 fantasy points). The reigning Offensive Player of the Year and once-in-a-generation back hasn’t looked like the same wrecking ball we saw last season. A year ago, he was shredding defenses for 50- and 60-yard sprints weekly. Now? His longest run through four games is just 16 yards. That's not the Barkley fantasy managers signed up for. The good news: he still looks like an elite back, and the explosiveness feels like it’s bubbling under the surface. But patience is wearing thin.
On the flip side, JK Dobbins (11.2 points) keeps looking like a fantasy cheat code. He gashed Cincinnati for 6.3 yards a pop and was the Ravens' most efficient weapon. The only thing missing was a touchdown, ending his three-game scoring streak. Even so, Dobbins has cemented himself as a "set it and forget it" RB1, even heading into a tough test in Philly.
Courtland Sutton (9.3 points) continues to prove Week 2 was a blip, not the norm. Another touchdown Monday night gives him scores in back-to-back games and WR1-level production in three of four outings. The Broncos finally have some consistency out wide, and Sutton looks locked in.
And then there’s AJ Brown. What in the world is going on? Take away Week 3, and his stat line is downright brutal: 18 targets, 8 catches, 42 yards, zero touchdowns. That averages out to three grabs for 14 yards per game. Yes, 14. We're talking about one of the league’s most gifted receivers, in an explosive Eagles offense, and he’s putting up numbers that look more like a backup tight end than a WR1. Something has to give — because right now, Brown is dragging fantasy lineups down.
Eagles vs Broncos Game Predictions
Week 5 serves up a clash between two offenses that look allergic to throwing the football. The Denver Broncos at least have a built-in excuse, rookie QB Bo Nix has been skittish and inefficient, though he's got a sturdy offensive line keeping him upright. The Philadelphia Eagles, on the other hand, don't have much wiggle room for excuses, especially when they're trudging into this one averaging a measly 138 passing yards per contest, second-worst in the NFL.
That being said, Denver's defense is no joke. This unit is the type that can throw a wrench into the Eagles' rhythm and give Sean Payton a fighting chance to steal one on the road. Payton will almost certainly test Philly where it's soft: against the run and at that vulnerable CB2 spot. The problem? You can also pound the rock on Denver, and that’s where Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts make the difference.
In the end, expect the Eagles to lean on their ground game, do just enough through the air, and survive a scrap to keep their perfect record intact. Denver will make them sweat, but Philly marches on to 5-0.
