Wrexham owners 'with plenty of money' tipped to land 'lottery' ticket as Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney take aim at unprecedented Premier League promotion

The Red Dragons are readying themselves for a step up into the Championship. A historic run of three successive promotions has seen them rewrite the history books after clambering out of the National League.

Hollywood co-chairmen Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have helped to make that meteoric rise possible, as they dig deep into personal fortunes, and there is the promise of more big-spending to come.

The door has been left open for further investors to join the most ambitious of projects in North Wales and former Wrexham boss Dean Saunders sees no reason why dreams of reaching the Premier League in “the next couple of years” should not be allowed to form.

Saunders, who spent three years at the Racecourse Ground between 2008 and 2011, told CasinoReviews.net: “They are a brilliantly supported football club, but getting out of the Championship will be a tough task, as every year, three new Premier League teams come into the division with some quality players and parachute payments.

“However, they've got brilliant owners with plenty of money, so hopefully they spend a little bit, and the team can challenge at the top of the league and maybe even get promoted in the next few years. If they could even get in the playoffs, that's always a lottery where they could thrive and get promoted.

“I hope they do go up within the next few years, as I would love to have a Welsh team back in the Premier League, especially one I have such close connections with. I certainly wouldn't bet against them being in the Premier League within the next couple of years.”

Wrexham’s squad are currently relaxing in Las Vegas after being treated to another all-expenses-paid trip to Sin City by Reynolds and McElhenney. Thoughts will, however, soon turn to transfer business and how best to tackle life in the second tier of English football.
