Archie Gray: Leeds reject Brentford offer despite teenager undergoing medical with Chelsea and Tottenham ready to enter transfer race

Leeds need to sell players to comply with profit and sustainability rules, and Gray is wanted by numerous Premier League clubs. Brentford made a bid worth £40m, and the midfielder underwent a medical, but the two parties could not agree on a payment schedule, and the offer has now been officially rebuffed.

Gray is just 18 and is an England U21 international who has developed into a key player at Elland Road, already clocking over 50 first-team appearances for the club. That has led to interest from Chelsea and Spurs, and there is the potential of a new approach being submitted to the Championship club.

Gray is a versatile figure who can play in multiple midfield positions, as well as at right-back. Leeds may also be forced to sell Crysencio Summerville, who is attracting interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.

Gray's future remains up in the air but Leeds have a degree of fee protection, as the teenager has a contract with the club until 2028. The Athletic have reported that Spurs have entered talks with the Whites following the collapse of the Brentford deal.
