📝 Bio: I am a freelance football expert with over 15 years’ experience in the industry. Having put the ‘free’ into freelance after graduating Bath Spa University with a degree in Media Communications in 2010, I was lucky enough to make the move into full-time work with football stats website WhoScored.com in 2013, progressing through the ranks until I became Head of Content in 2022 before leaving in 2025. I’ve been lucky enough to write about the sport I love for well over a decade, which includes the privilege of attending some of the biggest games in the Premier League and Champions League.

⚽ My Football Story: A frustrated Tottenham fan, I can recall my first ever match at White Hart Lane as my dad dragged me along to a drab 0-0 draw with Wimbledon in January 1999. While it hardly set the world alight, this was the match that remarkably made me fall in love with the beautiful game. Since then, I’ve been to countless games at home and abroad, as both a fan and as press, letting out a sound that no man should make as Dele Alli scored that goal at Crystal Palace. I’ve also had the privilege of seeing the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the flesh.

🌟 Favourite Footballing Memory: Travelling to Wembley for the 2008 Carling Cup final as Tottenham beat Chelsea thanks to Jonathan Woodgate’s face. It was the longest 120 minutes of my life but the relief as the full-time whistle blew… gives me goosebumps to this day. Taking my son to his first ever Tottenham game, albeit a pre-season one, also fills me with a sense of pride, even if he does insist he now supports Arsenal…

Arne Slot reportedly still has the backing of Liverpool owners FSG despite a downturn in results. The pressure continues to mount on Slot, with the defending Premier League champions now 14 points off league leaders Arsenal.

  3. Jacquet agrees personal terms with Chelsea

Chelsea have taken a major step forward in their bid to sign Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes, having agreed personal terms with the defender. 1. Mane urged to reverse retirement decision

Sadio Mane has been urged to reverse his retirement decision ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday. Mane will captain Senegal against tournament hosts Morocco tonight as the Lions of Teranga seek to win the competition for just the second time in their history, and the ex-Liverpool man has been vital in their pursuit of glory.

  2. Barca make decision over signing Rashford permanently

Barcelona intend to sign Marcus Rashford permanently at the end of the season. The England international moved to the Liga champions on loan over the summer having been ostracised by then-Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim. Amorim's exit earlier this week may have suggested that Rashford had a future back at Old Trafford having left under a cloud over the summer.

  3. Wrexham vs Nottingham Forest Big Match Breakdown

Okonkwo is Wrexham's FA Cup hero in Forest upset

Arthur Okonkwo proved to be Wrexham's hero as the Dragons shotstopper denied Omari Hutchinson from 12 yards to send the Championship side into the fourth round of the FA Cup at Nottingham Forest's expense. The pair couldn't be separated after 120 minutes, playing out an entertaining 3-3 draw at the Racecourse Ground, as Wrexham claimed a 4-3 shootout victory on Friday night.

  4. Aston Villa line up Conor Gallagher move

Aston Villa are considering a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his squad this month. Gallagher moved to the Liga giants last summer, and played an influential role for Diego Simeone's side in his debut campaign at the Wanda Metropolitano. However, the former Chelsea man has struggled for game time this season.

  5. Solskjaer to hold talks over stunning Man Utd return

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is to hold face-to-face talks with Manchester United over a stunning return to Old Trafford. United relieved Ruben Amorim of his duties on Monday after 14 months in charge of the Manchester powerhouse. Darren Fletcher has taken over interim control in the wake of Amorim's departure, and will be in charge for Sunday's FA Cup tie with Brighton.

  6. Spurs star Cristian Romero hit with extended ban

Cristian Romero has been hit with an additional one-match ban following his red card in the 2-1 loss to Liverpool last month. Romero received his marching orders for a second yellow late on in the narrow home loss to the defending Premier League champions and subsequently missed the 1-0 win at Crystal Palace, that victory one of only two in Spurs' last 12 league outings.

  7. Man Utd boss bemused Kyle Walker wasn't sent off for stamp

Darren Fletcher was left bemused that Kyle Walker wasn't sent off for stamping on Patrick Dorgu during Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Burnley in midweek. Fletcher oversaw his first game as interim boss following Ruben Amorim's sacking on Monday as United failed to come away from Turf Moor with all the spoils. And after the midweek stalemate, the Scot was surprised Walker didn't see red.

  8. Arsenal legend fires warning to Eberechi Eze

Arsenal legend Sol Campbell has fired a warning at Eberechi Eze after the summer signing made his first league appearance in a month in midweek. 9. Rosenior channels Mourinho during Chelsea press conference

Liam Rosenior insists he is 'not arrogant' despite channelling his inner Jose Mourinho during his first press conference as Chelsea head coach. The 41-year-old takes over a Chelsea side that have won only one of their last nine league matches.

  10. Arsenal agree bumper new contract with Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka has agreed terms on a new five-year deal with Arsenal. Saka's current contract runs until 2027, so the Gunners were under no real pressure to tie Saka down in north London. However, the homegrown winger has now agreed to extend his stay at the Emirates until the summer of 2031 with the Premier League leaders keen to reward the wideman's fine form.
