Under new manager Russell Martin, backed by fresh investment from 49ers Enterprises, Rangers are aggressively rebuilding ahead of Champions League qualification matches.

The emphasis has been on smart additions, while offloading fringe players on free or low-cost deals.

Rangers are focused on reshaping key areas — midfield depth, defensive solidity, and forward options, as the club is aiming to balance smart spending with player sales to sustain long-term investment.

Here, GOAL summarises Rangers’ 2025–26 transfer activity, focusing on confirmed ins and outs so far.

    New signings summer 2025 window

Lyall Cameron was officially unveiled by the club on 17 June 2025, after the midfielder from Dundee agreed a pre-contract earlier this year. Max Aarons, a right-back, signed on a season-long loan from Bournemouth.

Elsewhere, winger Oscar Cortes is a permanent signing from Lens for around £4.5 million, and midfielder Joe Rothwell agreed a three-year deal from Bournemouth - medical complete.

Rangers have also announced the signing of Emmanuel Fernandez on a four-year deal from Peterborough United.

Thelo Aasgaard completed a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee, while Nasser Djiga will spend the season on loan from Wolves, and Djeidi Gassama joined the club from Sheffield Wednesday for £2.2 million.

Target Conor Coady started the first game during Leicester City’s pre-season training camp in Austria, suggesting that new Foxes' boss Marti Cifuentes is in favour of retaining the defender.

Meanwhile, Martin has kept the door open for a potential move to bring Jamie Vardy to Ibrox following the veteran striker's Leicester City departure.

    Departures summer 2025 window

Rangers have gathered zero sales fees from the departures of Leon Balogun, Ianis Hagi, Tom Lawrence and Adam Devine.

While Cyriel Dessers had agreed on personal terms with Greek side AEK Athens, the clubs have been unable to reach an agreement due to financial disparities and Rangers' difficulty in securing a replacement for him.

Despite recent links to Everton, Hamza Igamane could still be set for a move to Lille.
