Manchester City lost their unblemished home record at the weekend, getting beat 2-1 by a Brentford side that went into the game winless on their travels.&nbsp;Despite his side’s struggles, Pep Guardiola made just one change in 90 minutes, disinclined to call upon the likes of Mahrez on the bench.&nbsp;The Algerian has now been an unused substitute in three successive Premier League matches for the club—at old club Leicester City, against Fulham and versus Brentford.&nbsp;Mahrez’s struggles this season have gone under the radar and the wide attacker will hope for improved performances whenever he gets on the pitch following the hiatus.&nbsp;

A surprising incident in which Iwobi’s jersey was thrown back at him at Bournemouth overshadowed what was another decent showing for the Everton man.&nbsp;The Nigerian could have set up a goal for the visitors but Nathan Patterson’s miss with 20 minutes remaining saw the Toffees squander their finest chance of scoring.&nbsp;Iwobi has now fashioned five big chances in 2022-23, already surpassing his numbers in previous seasons on Merseyside.The midfielder’s next assist will take him to six, matching his assists number in his final season at Arsenal in 2018-19.Despite the supposed humiliation at the Vitality Stadium, Iwobi can be proud of his performances preceding the World Cup interlude.
