New development in the negotiations between Juventus and Bologna for the Colombian defender: a surprise player-plus-cash option emerges

Juventus have reached an agreement in principle to sign Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi after fending off strong interest from the Premier League. The Colombian international has agreed a five-year contract in Turin, although the two Italian clubs must still negotiate a final transfer fee.

Serie A side Bologna have turned down a €30m offer from Everton for English winger Jonathan Rowe and made it clear they are unwilling to part ways with the player this summer. The Toffees explored increasing their proposal to €35m, but the Italian club remain determined to keep hold of the 23-year-old following key squad departures.
