Mateus Mane continues to generate plenty of interest at Wolves, with Michael Gray telling GOAL that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has already asked questions of the teenage wonderkid. Several other heavyweight outfits are said to be monitoring the talented 18-year-old, who faces some big decisions on his future at club and international level.
Wolves won't be in the Premier League next season - but Matheus Mane really should be. The 18-year-old has arguably been the one ray of optimism amid the gloom surrounding a team that's been pretty much doomed to relegation since Christmas. Indeed, one could easily argue that when it comes to Wolves' 2025-26 campaign, there was a before Mane, and and after Mane.
Mateus Mane has been linked with Manchester United and Liverpool, but Don Goodman has told GOAL why the Wolves wonderkid is not yet a £50 million ($68m) player. At 18 years of age, the fleet-footed forward has made quite the impression with Premier League strugglers during a breakthrough campaign. An expensive transfer flop at Everton is, however, being used as a warning to Mane when it comes to important decisions on his future.
The annual NXGN lists are back for 2026, as GOAL ranks the world's top teenage talents in men's and women's football, crowning winners that will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Vicky Lopez in being recognised as the best young footballers on the planet.
