The Las Vegas Raiders (1-1) head to Northwest Stadium in Landover for a Week 3 clash with the Washington Commanders (1-1).
Las Vegas opened the season on a high note against the New England Patriots. Trailing by three at halftime, the Raiders caught fire after the break, outscoring New England 13-3 in the second half to secure a 20-13 victory.
Washington kicked off its campaign with a convincing win over the struggling New York Giants. The Commanders built a 14-3 cushion by the third quarter and never looked back, cruising to a 21-6 triumph.

Team news & squads
Washington Commanders team news
The Commanders are dealing with major losses in the wake of their game against the Packers, as running back Austin Ekeler (Achilles) and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. (quad) are both out for the season. Stepping into the spotlight on Sunday will be rookie running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt, a seventh-round pick who turned heads during the preseason and is now expected to see his first real action.
Washington could also be without star QB Jayden Daniels. Washington head coach Dan Quinn revealed Wednesday that Daniels, last season’s Offensive Rookie of the Year, won’t take part in practice until at least Friday due to a knee injury. The 24-year-old injured the knee late in Washington's 27-18 loss to Green Bay on Sept. 11, and an MRI confirmed a sprain, leaving his game status in question.
If Daniels can't suit up, former Raiders quarterback Marcus Mariota would step in as the starter. Daniels did get in some on-field work Wednesday, including throwing drills, providing a glimmer of hope that he might be ready for Sunday.
On the defensive side, the Commanders are shoring up their pass rush after losing Wise Jr. for the season. They added veteran edge rusher Preston Smith, a 2015 second-round pick who spent four years in Washington before stops in Green Bay and Pittsburgh. At 32, Smith has amassed 70.5 career sacks over a decade in the league.
Washington will also be without cornerback Jonathan Jones, who landed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury suffered against the Packers, sidelining him for at least the next four games.

Las Vegas Raiders team news
The Raiders are coming off a tough 20-9 loss to the Chargers on Monday night and are desperate to ignite an offense that’s sputtering through the early season. Averaging just 14.5 points per game, they rank second-worst in scoring. Geno Smith struggled against Los Angeles, going 24-of-43 for 180 yards, tossing three interceptions, and taking three sacks. Ashton Jeanty has been similarly underwhelming, with 81 yards on 30 carries (2.7 yards per carry) and a single touchdown in two games.
Tight end Brock Bowers didn’t see practice time until last Saturday but managed five catches for 38 yards against the Chargers on eight targets. He’s expected to play a bigger role on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Raiders reported Bowers, safety Jeremy Chinn (pectoral), and offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson (concussion) as limited participants in Wednesday’s practice.

Commanders vs Raiders Fantasy Football
Jayden Daniels is currently battling a knee issue, leaving his availability for Sunday in doubt. If he can’t go, Marcus Mariota would likely get the nod—and for fantasy managers seeking a streamer with QB1 potential, he’s the guy to target.
Mariota has shown he can produce when called upon. Last season, he had two extended appearances and finished as a top-10 fantasy quarterback both times. In Week 7, he replaced Daniels after just ten snaps and closed the week as QB8 with 19.6 points. Expect him to be a popular pick in DFS if he starts.
On the receiving end, Terry McLaurin (8.5 projected fpts W3) is off to a slow start, on pace for fewer than 700 yards, but given his track record of five straight 1,000-yard seasons, his production should rebound as the season progresses.
For the Raiders, Geno Smith (16.7 projected W3 fpts) had a nightmare on Monday night, completing just 55.8% of his passes (24-for-43) for 180 yards and throwing three interceptions. After racking up 16.5 passing points in Week 1 against New England, he managed just 3.2 points on Monday, leaving him as a volatile QB2 with finishes of QB15 and QB34 through two weeks.
Meanwhile, Jakobi Meyers (8.4 projected W3 fpts), whether disgruntled or motivated, is leading the Raiders with 14 catches for 165 yards. Rookie running back Ashton Jeanty (13.3 projected fpts W3) has struggled through two games, averaging only 2.7 yards per carry and totaling 81 rushing yards.

Commanders vs Raiders Game Predictions
The Washington Commanders are favored with a 62.6% chance to defeat the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, leaving the Raiders a 37.1% shot and only a slim margin for a potential tie.
Washington, however, will be without a key piece of its defense. Veteran defensive end Deatrich Wise sustained a severe quadriceps injury in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers while attempting to block an extra point. The setback required surgery and will sideline him for the remainder of the 2025 season. Wise was visibly emotional as he was carted off the field, and his absence creates a major void along an already thin defensive front.
The Commanders will lean more heavily on players like Jalyn Holmes, but replacing Wise’s impact will be no easy task. His loss adds to a growing list of injuries for Washington, which also includes running back Austin Ekeler.
