Fresh off their bye week, the Chicago Bears will try to ride that momentum and climb above .500 with a statement win over the Washington Commanders.
Chicago enters this matchup at 2-2 after edging out the Las Vegas Raiders 25-24 in a nail-biter before the break. A victory here would set them up nicely before they return home to face the New Orleans Saints.
On the flip side, Washington is also aiming to keep things rolling after taking down the Los Angeles Chargers. Sitting at 2-2 and eyeing a winning record, the Commanders will try to build confidence before they hit the road for a divisional showdown with the Dallas Cowboys.
Washington Commanders vs Chicago Bears kick-off time
The Commanders and Bears will meet in Week 6 of the NFL season at Northwest Stadium in Summerfield, Maryland, on Monday, October 13, 2025, starting at 8:15 pm ET.

Washington Commanders team news
Washington's injury sheet wasn’t exactly spotless either. Terry McLaurin (quad), Chris Rodriguez Jr. (calf), and Deebo Samuel (heel/rest) were all DNPs to open the week. Meanwhile, John Bates (shoulder) and Noah Brown (groin/knee) were limited in their workload. The good news for Commanders fans? Sam Cosmi (knee) and quarterback Jayden Daniels (knee) were both full participants—an encouraging sign that their offensive core will be intact heading into Sunday's showdown.Daniels has thrown for 664 yards and four touchdowns at a 59.2% completion rate, while veteran Marcus Mariota has contributed 363 passing yards with three touchdowns and one interception on 64.6% passing. On the ground, Jacory Croskey-Merritt leads the Commanders with 283 rushing yards and four scores, with Jeremy McNichols adding 112 yards and a touchdown as well.
In the passing game, Deebo Samuel has been the go-to weapon, hauling in 30 passes for 308 yards and three touchdowns. Terry McLaurin has totaled 149 receiving yards, matching tight end Zach Ertz's 149 yards on 14 catches, with Ertz also punching in a pair of touchdowns. On the defensive side, Bobby Wagner continues to be a tackling machine with a team-best 56 total tackles, including 26 solo and two sacks. Dorance Armstrong has created consistent pressure, leading Washington with five sacks. Altogether, the Commanders’ defense has posted 15 sacks and two interceptions on the campaign.

Chicago Bears team news
There's a bit of unease brewing in Chicago despite the Bears coming off a much-needed bye week. The latest injury report painted a concerning picture, with Jaquan Brisker (quad), Grady Jarrett (knee), Kyle Monangai (thigh), and Darnell Wright (elbow) all listed as did not practice. That's three key starters sidelined.
There is, however, a bit of silver lining. The Bears finally got some positive updates with a few key contributors trending in the right direction. Kyler Gordon (hamstring), Jonah Jackson (rib), and Colston Loveland (hip) were all listed as limited participants. Loveland, meanwhile, sat out the trip to Las Vegas, so his participation is a welcome sign that he's on the mend. Even better, several Bears were upgraded to full participants, including Austin Booker (knee), T.J. Edwards (hamstring), Travis Homer (calf), and Cairo Santos (thigh).
Caleb Williams has been leading the charge for Chicago's offense, throwing for 927 yards with eight touchdowns and just two picks while completing 62.3% of his passes. On the ground, D’Andre Swift has churned out 187 rushing yards and found the end zone twice. Rookie standout Rome Odunze has emerged as the top target with 20 receptions for 296 yards and an impressive five touchdowns. DJ Moore has chipped in 173 receiving yards and a score of his own, while both Cole Kmet and Olamide Zaccheaus have eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark as well.
Defensively, Tremaine Edmunds has been all over the field, leading the team with 40 total tackles, 21 of those coming solo, along with a pair of interceptions. Kevin Byard III has been a ballhawk with three interceptions to pace the secondary. As a collective unit, the Bears’ defense has racked up five sacks and seven takeaways through the air so far this season.

Commanders vs Bears Fantasy Football
Jayden Daniels made his return to action last week after a two-game layoff and looked solid, if not spectacular, completing 15 of 26 passes (57.7%) for 231 yards (8.9 yards per attempt) and a touchdown. He also added 39 yards on the ground across eight carries, showcasing the mobility that makes him such a consistent fantasy option. While Daniels hasn't cracked the QB1 tier yet this season, he’s been remarkably steady—posting fantasy scores of 20.1, 19.7, and 17.1 points in his three outings. This matchup, however, feels like the perfect storm for him to finally break through and deliver that long-awaited QB1 performance.
We came into last week scratching our heads over why Washington insists on keeping a three-man rotation in the backfield when Bill Croskey-Merritt has been clearly outpacing his teammates in efficiency by a wide margin. It's time the Commanders stop overthinking it and give the hot hand a real shot.
One bright spot for Washington has been Deebo Samuel, who looks rejuvenated in his new surroundings. This system has proven to be tailor-made for his skill set, and with Terry McLaurin missing significant time in training camp and early in the season, Samuel has seized the opportunity. Currently sitting as the WR8 in fantasy points per game, Samuel could easily vault into WR1 territory if McLaurin remains sidelined.
Meanwhile, Zach Ertz hit an uncharacteristic low point last week—he failed to record a single catch for the first time since 2014. The veteran tight end has topped three receptions only once this year and ran routes on just 71% of dropbacks in his latest outing—a season low. At this stage, Ertz profiles as a touchdown-dependent TE2, offering limited upside unless he finds the end zone.
Elsewhere, it's been a roller-coaster start for Caleb Williams, who continues to flash immense upside while battling inconsistency. He’s best viewed as a boom-or-bust QB2 in single-quarterback formats, but if Chicago's offensive line can keep him upright, the ceiling is sky-high.
D’Andre Swift has been hovering right around the RB2 fringe through the first month of the season, logging finishes of RB27, RB22, RB24, and RB20. He hasn’t exactly been lighting it up, but the silver lining is that no one in Chicago's backfield has truly challenged him for touches yet.
And then there’s Rome Odunze, who returns from his bye week ranked as the WR4 in fantasy points per game and WR3 in expected points. He’s commanding a 26.7% target share (WR12) and a whopping 40.1% of the team’s air yards (WR8), making him one of the most reliable fantasy receivers in the game right now.
Commanders vs Bears Game Predictions
Chicago managed to edge out Las Vegas in their last outing, and now they're eyeing a third straight victory. The Bears' defense has shown some cracks, but their offense has held up well through the opening stretch of the season. Washington, meanwhile, has been up and down, trading wins and losses across their first five games while navigating a handful of injuries.
The Commanders got off to a sluggish start in their previous matchup but flipped the script in the second half, leaning on a powerful ground attack to take control against the Chargers. Chicago has proven they can take care of business against lesser opponents, but their defensive lapses make it tough to trust them against a Washington offense that can pile on points when it gets rolling. We back the Commanders to come out on top in this one.
