Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has set a new club record, with a 16th Premier League game without defeat seeing him edge above Javier Mascherano on a list of faultless starts.
The Reds invested heavily in the Brazil international goalkeeper over the summer as they sought to address obvious weaknesses in that area.
A £65 million ($83m) transfer fee briefly made him the most expensive No. 1 in world football, with Jurgen Klopp prepared to speculate to accumulate.
That has looked like money well spent through the opening months of the season.
Liverpool boast the best defensive record in the English top-flight, with only six goals conceded so far.
They secured another clean sheet on their most recent outing, with Bournemouth crushed 4-0 at the Vitality Stadium.
Mohamed Salah was the star of the show as he netted a hat-trick, but Alisson hit a notable landmark of his own.
The 26-year-old is yet to suffer a league defeat with the Reds, with that run now stretched to 16 games.
Alisson made his Liverpool bow on the opening weekend of the season against West Ham.
He helped the Reds to start the campaign with six successive victories, and they have been able to build on that momentum.
The hope is that they can sustain a title challenge and push reigning champions Manchester City close in the battle for the Premier League crown.
The Reds were unable to get their hands on the trophy when Mascherano opened his spell at Anfield in impressive style back in 2007.
The versatile Argentine avoided defeat in his first 15 outings for the club, with seven of those coming at the end of the 2006-07 campaign.
Having taken in another eight games without coming unstuck the following season, Mascherano saw his run surprisingly ended by Reading at the Madejski Stadium.
Alisson will be hoping to keep his sequence going, but Liverpool have testing league fixtures coming up against Manchester United, Wolves, Newcastle and Arsenal.
