The Green Bay Packers (4-1-1) head to Pittsburgh to face Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers (4-2) under the lights on "Sunday Night Football" at Acrisure Stadium in Week 8.
Pittsburgh is coming off a high-scoring loss to Cincinnati on "Thursday Night Football," but the Steelers will have the edge in rest as the more refreshed squad for Sunday night. Meanwhile, the Packers eked out a gritty road win over the Arizona Cardinals, marking their first victory away from home this season.
This matchup is a real litmus test for Green Bay — it's their first clash with a team holding a winning record since Week 2. The question looms large: can Jordan Love and the Packers rise to the occasion, topple Rodgers, and steal a primetime win in a hostile Steelers environment?

Pittsburgh Steelers team news
Coming off their bye and facing a brutal stretch of 11 straight regular-season games, the Steelers are slowly getting healthy. WR Calvin Austin III, sidelined with a shoulder injury since the Dublin game against Minnesota, could suit up against Green Bay after fully participating in Wednesday's practice.
QB Will Howard also returned to full practice after being designated to return from IR, though the Steelers have a 21-day window to activate him or he’s out for the season.
The Steelers are churning out a respectable 25.0 points per game on offense, sitting 12th in the league, while their defense gives up 23.3 points per contest, ranking 18th. Pittsburgh is moving the ball for 297.5 total yards per game, with 203.0 through the air and 94.5 on the ground, but they’re giving up 374.7 yards per game themselves (258.8 passing, 115.8 rushing).
QB Aaron Rodgers is leading the charge with 1,270 passing yards, a 68.6% completion rate, and 14 touchdowns. Jaylen Warren tops the rushing charts with 311 yards, and WR D.K. Metcalf has emerged as the aerial threat, hauling in 22 catches for 406 yards and four scores. Defensively, Patrick Queen paces the team with 48 tackles (24 solo), while T.J. Watt leads in sacks with four. Interceptions are spread around, with Jalen Ramsey, T.J. Watt, DeShon Elliott, Brandin Echols, and Nick Herbig each snagging one.

Green Bay Packers team news
On the Packers’ side, DT Devonte Wyatt is back in practice after a knee injury suffered in Dallas on Sept. 28, with Matt LaFleur giving him the week to prep for Sunday night. RT Zach Tom is off the oblique list, leaving only a lingering back issue. WR Christian Watson is on track to return after three weeks of practice post-PUP, potentially filling in if Dontayvion Wicks (calf) can't go.
New minor injuries this week include Wicks, Xavier McKinney, Quay Walker, and Evan Williams, though Wicks is the only real concern. Meanwhile, the Packers cleared DL Warren Brinson, WR Matthew Golden, OL Jacob Monk, and CB Keisean Nixon from the report.
The Packers are posting 26.3 points per game (8th in the NFL) and allowing 20.8 points per game (10th), showing balanced efficiency on both sides. They average 343.3 yards per game offensively (225.8 passing, 117.5 rushing) while holding opponents to 288.5 yards (212.0 passing, 76.5 rushing). QB Jordan Love has been sharp, throwing for 1,438 yards with a 69.3% completion rate and 10 touchdowns.
Josh Jacobs leads the ground attack with 414 yards, while Romeo Doubs tops the receiving corps with 24 catches for 306 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Quay Walker anchors the unit with 59 total tackles (32 solo), and edge rushers Rashan Gary and Micah Parsons are wreaking havoc with 5.5 sacks apiece. Xavier McKinney and Evan Williams round out the team’s interceptions with one each.

Steelers vs Packers Fantasy Football
Jordan Love has been playing smart, efficient football this season but the fantasy numbers haven’t quite matched the on-field performance. He's completed 69.3% of his throws (7th in the league) while averaging 8.2 yards per attempt (5th), 11.8 yards per completion (6th), and boasting a healthy 5.7% touchdown rate (10th). On paper, those numbers scream "fantasy star," yet the production simply hasn’t followed.
Through six games, Love has only logged two QB1 fantasy finishes and cracked the top ten just once. Stretching back to last year, he’s hit 20-plus fantasy points only five times in his last 21 starts, a sobering stat for anyone banking on his upside. Part of the issue? Green Bay's conservative approach. He ranks just 23rd in dropbacks per game (33.2), and Josh Jacobs handles much of the scoring work in the red zone. For now, Love remains a safe, steady QB2 with limited week-to-week pop.
Fantasy managers were on edge last week with Jacobs listed as a true game-time decision, nursing a calf issue and battling illness. But the veteran back powered through, finding the end zone twice and reaffirming why he’s one of the most dependable RB1 options around. His combination of volume and nose for the goal line keeps his fantasy stock rock solid.
Finally, Tucker Kraft is making waves at tight end, drawing a season-high 10 targets and turning them into 58 yards and a touchdown last week. His chemistry with Love continues to build, and in a favorable matchup, he’s every bit the TE1 with legitimate upside, even in a passing offense that doesn’t always open the throttle.
Meanwhile, Romeo Doubs has quietly become a reliable piece of Green Bay’s passing game, finishing as a WR3 or better in four of his last five outings. His growing target share and consistency have made him less touchdown-dependent, a welcome shift for fantasy managers tired of boom-or-bust weeks.
Over in Pittsburgh, Aaron Rodgers continues to play efficient, calculated football. He ranks eighth in completion percentage (68.6%), 11th in yards per attempt (7.4), and an impressive second in touchdown rate (8.1%), while being sacked on just 5% of his dropbacks. His fantasy value, though, depends heavily on maintaining that scoring efficiency since he brings little to the table as a rusher. For now, Rodgers, like Love, projects as a high-floor QB2 — steady, if unspectacular.
Jaylen Warren flashed his best rushing form of the year on Thursday night, ripping off 127 yards on 16 carries against the Bengals. If this kind of workload continues, he’s an upside RB2 with added juice as a pass-catcher, provided his coaching staff keeps feeding him the rock.
DK Metcalf continues to stretch defenses, pulling in three of five targets for 50 yards last week. He’s averaging a blistering 18.5 yards per catch and 10.9 yards after the grab — proof that his big-play potential is still alive and well. While his volume fluctuates, the explosiveness keeps him firmly in WR2/WR3 territory.
Steelers vs Packers Game Predictions
Can Aaron Rodgers finally settle the score with the Green Bay Packers? You can bet the future Hall of Famer has had this date circled in red since the schedule dropped. Few players in NFL history thrive on a chip-on-the-shoulder narrative quite like Rodgers, and you can feel that familiar edge simmering beneath the surface. Earlier this year, in his first "revenge tour" outing, the 41-year-old carved up his opponent for four touchdowns and a sparkling 136.7 passer rating, proof that the old gunslinger still knows how to turn emotion into execution.
This time, though, he's up against a Packers defense headlined by Micah Parsons, a one-man sack machine capable of smashing game plans by himself. Expect Rodgers to lean on his quick release and short passing game to keep Parsons and company off his back. But the real test for Pittsburgh may lie elsewhere in whether their defense can hold up and if their sputtering rushing attack can finally find some rhythm.
Make no mistake: Rodgers will come out slinging, burning with that trademark fire. Yet Matt LaFleur is no slouch, the Packers coach is likely scheming up a few wrinkles of his own for this emotional showdown. This feels like one of those games destined to come down to the wire. Don't be surprised if Pittsburgh keeps it tight and come out on top.
