Arsenal have made their first defensive addition of the summer transfer window.
According to Arsenal's official website, the club have signed England international Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa on a long-term contract.
The 28-year-old arrives after seven seasons at Villa Park, where he racked up more than 200 Premier League appearances across all competitions.
Konsa launched his professional career at Charlton Athletic. He broke into the first team in 2016 and quickly made his name as one of the club's brightest young defenders.
Two seasons with the seniors earned him a move to Brentford in 2018. His displays throughout the 2018-2019 campaign lifted his stock and opened the door to the Premier League, with Aston Villa snapping him up in 2019.
Consistency became his trademark at Villa. His ability to operate at both centre-back and right-back cemented his reputation as one of the division's leading defenders.
On the international stage, Konsa turned out for England's Under-20 and Under-21 sides before making his senior debut in 2023. He has been a regular for the Three Lions ever since, featuring at Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup.

Berta added: "We are welcoming a player with proven experience in the Premier League and at international level, along with strong leadership qualities, and he will be able to adapt smoothly to our style of play. Just as importantly, we are welcoming a player who possesses the character and mentality needed to make an immediate impact within our club."
Konsa will wear the number 15 shirt and links up with his new team-mates in the capital straight away.
