No team in the NFL is riding more momentum right now than the Los Angeles Chargers. At 3-0 both overall and within the AFC West, they’ve set the pace early in the division.
Week 4 brings a cross-conference clash as Los Angeles looks to stay perfect against a New York Giants squad still searching for answers after an 0-3 start. The noise for Jaxson Dart to take over at quarterback is growing louder, but it may not matter who lines up under center when the red-hot Chargers arrive at MetLife.
New York's primetime flop only underscored the roster’s glaring shortcomings and further intensified the QB chatter. Early outlooks for this matchup suggest Los Angeles won’t take its foot off the gas.
The spotlight in New York is squarely on the dawn of the Jaxson Dart era, as the rookie quarterback takes over under center. This is the storyline that towers above the rest, and make no mistake, if Dart can't breathe life into Brian Daboll's tenure, then nothing and no one else will be able to keep the head coach's position in tact.
New York Giants vs Los Angeles Chargers kick-off time

New York Giants team news
After Russell Wilson threw another interception in Sunday night’s third straight loss to open the season, a section of Giants fans at MetLife Stadium made their feelings loud and clear, chanting, "We want Dart!"
Their wishes are now reality. New York is turning to rookie Jaxson Dart as the starting quarterback for Sunday's clash against the unbeaten Los Angeles Chargers, according to reports. Dart will take over with the Giants reeling at 0-3, while Wilson is expected to suit up as the backup. Veteran Jameis Winston remains third on the depth chart.
With Tyrone Tracy sidelined with a shoulder injury, the Giants will rely on fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo as RB1. Skattebo made his mark with 10 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown, while also serving as the top target in the passing game, hauling in six receptions for 61 yards. Darius Slayton chipped in with four catches for 30 yards of his own.

Los Angeles Chargers team news
The Chargers found themselves in a tight battle in last week's clash against Denver. Trailing 17-13 entering the fourth quarter, Los Angeles outscored the Broncos 10-3 down the stretch to pull out a gritty 23-20 victory. Justin Herbert finished 28-of-47 with 300 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
The loss of Najee Harris to a season-ending Achilles injury is a crushing blow, leaving the ground game in the hands of rookie Omarion Hampton. Drafted first overall, Hampton will now be thrown into the spotlight earlier than expected — and the Chargers will need him to shoulder a heavy load to keep the offense balanced.
Meanwhile, second-year receiver Ladd McConkey hasn't lived up to expectations in Year 2. With only 15 catches for 163 yards and no trips to the end zone, he’s in desperate need of a breakout. Sunday’s matchup might be the perfect stage for McConkey to finally snap out of his funk and give Justin Herbert another reliable target.

Giants vs Chargers Fantasy Football
Justin Herbert (20.6 projected W4 fpts) may never completely quiet the skeptics until he delivers in the postseason, but the Chargers signal-caller has come out firing in 2025. Through three weeks, he leads the league with 860 passing yards and sits tied for third with six touchdown throws.
That said, Week 3 brought his first stumble of the campaign — just one touchdown pass, his first interception, and a shaky 59.6% completion rate (28-of-47). Fortunately for Herbert, the Giants’ secondary has been generous, giving up 252 passing yards a game and letting Dak Prescott torch them for 361 in Week 2.
The Chargers’ backfield took a hit with Najee Harris suffering an Achilles injury, opening the door for Omarion Hampton (12.6 projected W4 fpts) to shoulder the load. Though not overly efficient on the ground, he provided value as a receiver, finishing with 129 scrimmage yards. Meanwhile, Keenan Allen (8.9 projected W4 fpts) and Quentin Johnston (8.1 projected W4 fpts) continue to dominate the stat sheet, while Ladd McConkey (9.4 points) remains steady with modest production and signs of a breakout looming. Johnston’s lack of touchdowns so far feels more like bad early-season variance than anything — being tethered to Herbert should eventually pay off.
On the Giants’ side, quarterback Russell Wilson is set to be benched after Brian Daboll refused to commit to him moving forward. Dart has mixed in for six snaps over the last two games but has yet to throw a pass. Adding to New York's woes, RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. exited last week with a shoulder injury, paving the way for Cam Skattebo, who made an impact with a touchdown.
For fantasy managers, the Giants’ offense remains a volatile proposition — Malik Nabers (11.4 projected W4 fpts) has the talent, but inconsistency will follow until the quarterback situation stabilizes. Against a rolling Chargers squad, this feels like another uphill climb for Big Blue.

Giants vs Chargers Game Predictions
The unbeaten Chargers head east for a long road trip, but the Giants hardly look like the team to slow them down. With an offense that's struggled to find any spark, New York will hand the keys to rookie Jaxson Dart for his first NFL start. That's a brutal assignment against Jesse Minter's aggressive defense, which has feasted on young quarterbacks.
On the other side, Justin Herbert is humming and shows no signs of cooling off. Rookie back Omarion Hampton has emerged as the bell cow, and he should have a field day pounding away at a Giants front that’s been gashed on the ground. Once they bottle up the run, the Chargers’ pass rush and tight coverage will collapse the pocket on Dart, daring him to survive his baptism by fire.
With Jim Harbaugh setting the tone and Herbert dealing, this feels like another statement road win. The Chargers have already taken down two playoff teams, averaging 23.2 points a game, and they'll keep the train rolling with comfy win in New York.
