It's an AFC clash under the bright lights at Arrowhead as two preseason Super Bowl favorites square off. The Chiefs (1-2) welcome the Ravens (1-2) in a Week 4 battle that already feels like it could shape the playoff picture.
One of these contenders is destined to tumble to 1-3, a scenario few could've imagined back in August. On paper, Baltimore appears to be the steadier outfit through three weeks, which is why many expect them to walk out of Kansas City with a crucial win. Meanwhile, even though the Chiefs finally broke into the win column against the Giants last Sunday, they hardly resembled the dominant powerhouse we’ve come to know.
Still, it's dangerous to write off Kansas City, especially at Arrowhead. Patrick Mahomes has a history of rising to the occasion in this matchup, boasting a 5-1 career record against Lamar Jackson, the only quarterback to beat Baltimore's star signal-caller three or more times.
Kansas City Chiefs vs Baltimore Ravens kick-off time
The Chiefs and Ravens will meet in Week 4 of the NFL season at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sunday, September 28, starting at 4:25 pm ET.

Kansas City Chiefs team news
If not for Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City could easily be staring down a nightmare start — maybe even winless through three weeks. The reigning MVP has been the lone steadying force, dragging a sputtering offense into gear. At least on Sunday, it finally clicked after halftime, as the Chiefs pulled away for a 22-9 victory over the Giants.
A bright spot came in the form of Tyquan Thornton, who turned in a breakout showing with five grabs for 71 yards. There’s also optimism that rookie burner Xavier Worthy could be back in the mix after going down in the opening week. His return, paired with Thornton’s speed, gives Mahomes a couple of legitimate downfield threats — something this offense has sorely needed.

Baltimore Ravens team news
Baltimore is juggling problems in the trenches. The Ravens shuffled the deck midweek by adding defensive tackles Taven Bryan and Josh Tupou to their practice squad, a move that underscores their growing injury crisis.
Left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) didn’t suit up for practice after grinding through every snap in Monday night’s loss to Detroit. Patrick Ricard (calf) and Kyle Van Noy (hamstring) were also sidelined, with Ricard absent since mid-August. The biggest concern, though, is the defensive line. Star tackle Nnamdi Madubuike (neck), along with Travis Jones (knee) and Broderick Washington Jr. (ankle), all missed practice Wednesday.
Lamar Jackson has been nothing short of sensational to open the season, even if Baltimore’s win-loss column doesn’t fully capture it yet. He’s connecting on 71% of his throws, already piling up nine touchdown passes without a single interception — tops in the NFL at this stage. The Ravens’ 111 points also lead the league, a remarkable return given they’ve had to trade blows with two offensive juggernauts in Buffalo and Detroit.
But as good as Jackson has been, he can’t fix the other side of the ball. The real issue lies with Baltimore’s defense, which has sprung leaks in the ground game. After getting bulldozed for more than 200 rushing yards by Detroit’s backfield on Monday, the Ravens now rank third-worst in the league against the run — and no team has surrendered more rushing scores than their seven. To make matters worse, Pro Bowl defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike could remain sidelined after missing Monday’s clash with a neck problem.
Meanwhile, Derrick Henry has looked like his old self again, hammering defenses for 242 yards on just 41 carries — a blistering 5.9 yards per tote — and finding the end zone three times already. The only blemish? A sudden case of butterfingers. The veteran bruiser has put the ball on the turf more often than usual, a surprising development for a back who’s built his reputation on consistency and control.

Chiefs vs Ravens Fantasy Football
Lamar Jackson (22.8 projected W4 fpts) has wasted no time picking up where he left off last season, continuing to look like the crown jewel of fantasy quarterbacks since Todd Monken took over Baltimore's offense. Through three weeks, Jackson has stacked up QB4, QB3, and QB3 finishes, a steady stream of top-tier production.
What's most impressive is how he's getting it done even when things aren't clicking. Last week, Jackson managed just 13 rushing yards, absorbed a career-high seven sacks, and hit a season-low 65.5% completion rate — and still churned out 26.3 fantasy points. That’s the mark of a locked-in QB1. That said, history shows he hasn’t exactly lit up Kansas City through the air, so expectations should be tempered slightly in this particular rivalry.
On the Baltimore side, there's also a bit of concern surrounding Derrick Henry (14.8 projected W4 fpts). The veteran back has put the ball on the turf in three straight games — a sharp contrast to last season, when he only coughed it up three times total. Ravens supporters and Henry loyalists might brush it off as bad luck, but it’s hard to ignore such an uncharacteristic trend from a player who’s built his career on reliability.
Zay Flowers (6.3 projected W4 fpts), meanwhile, remains a steady Week 4 play even if the breakout hasn't fully hit yet. His usage, talent, and role in this offense keep him fantasy relevant, and most would still prefer him over struggling wideouts like Tee Higgins. His arrow is still pointing up, it just may take a little patience.
On the other sideline, Patrick Mahomes (19.3 projected W4 fpts) hasn't looked like himself out of the gate. Missing several key weapons, he's been limited to 6.6 yards per attempt or fewer in every game so far. That puts him firmly in the QB2 range for now, a surprising label for a player who once seemed matchup-proof. While he's still capable of improvising and creating magic on the ground — as he showed in Weeks 1 and 2 — his rushing contributions don’t compare to Jackson’s consistent threat. For fantasy managers, that makes Mahomes a volatile starter in standard one-quarterback leagues.
Given how David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs carved Baltimore for over 200 rushing yards on Monday night, Kansas City might try to turn this into a trench battle. Their run game is middle-of-the-pack statistically, but the opportunity is there. Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt (6.3 projected W4 fpts) have split touches nearly evenly, though Andy Reid has leaned on Hunt in short-yardage and red-zone spots. If anyone’s punching it in for six, Hunt looks like the better bet to get the nod.
Chiefs vs Ravens Game Predictions
A month ago, the thought of either side sitting at 1–3 would've sounded like something out of a bad joke. Yet here we are, in the meat grinder that is the NFL, staring down a reality where one of these two walks out of Week 4 with that dreaded record, unless, of course, they serve up a rare and ugly tie.
The oddsmakers are starting to cool on the Kansas City Chiefs, and for good reason. It's premature to strike through their Super Bowl chances, nobody with a functioning brain is completely writing off Patrick Mahomes or Andy Reid, but the cracks are there for everyone to see. That thin supporting cast is being exposed week after week, and the hangover from back-to-back heartbreaks on the biggest stage is proving tougher to shake than anyone in Kansas City would like to admit. If they do fall to 1–3, we’re in uncharted waters for a team that was supposed to be the NFL's next great dynasty.
The Chiefs, sensing their margin for error shrinking, will want to drag this into a knockdown, drag-out slugfest, gritty, low-scoring, defense-first football. Baltimore, meanwhile, has its own issues. That usually rock-solid defense has sprung leaks in recent weeks, and if there's one quarterback in the league who can punish them for it, it's Mahomes. Don’t be surprised if Kansas City leans hard on home-field energy to steady the ship and claw their way back into the conversation.
