Buffalo Bills vs Baltimore Ravens NFL Preview: Team news, odds, tickets, predictions, live stream, Fantasy Football and more

Week 1's Sunday Night Football slate serves up a heavyweight showdown as Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens travel north to face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. It’s a marquee clash between two of the league’s most electrifying quarterbacks, and one that could easily stand as one of the premier matchups of the entire NFL season.

Baltimore’s 2024 campaign was impressive by nearly every measure. After stumbling out of the gate with back-to-back losses, the Ravens steadied themselves and finished 12-5, good enough to reclaim the AFC North crown. They opened the postseason with a convincing 28-14 win over archrival Pittsburgh in the Wild Card round but saw their run halted in the Divisional Playoffs, falling just short in a 27-25 thriller against Buffalo.

As for the Bills, they managed to outperform most preseason expectations. Buffalo put together a 13-4 record and captured yet another AFC East title—their fifth straight. They steamrolled Denver 31-7 in the Wild Card before outlasting Baltimore in that nail-biting Divisional matchup. Their momentum carried them to the AFC Championship, but the dream ended there with a narrow 32-29 defeat at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bills vs Ravens Fantasy Football

Lamar Jackson slots in as a strong QB2 for fantasy managers this week, carrying a 21.9-point projection thanks to his explosive dual-threat skill set that allows him to hurt defenses both in the air and on the ground. Across the field, Josh Allen sits at QB4 with a trickier assignment against Baltimore's reinforced secondary, but his overall upside and weekly ceiling keep him locked in as an every-week starter.

In the backfield, Derrick Henry remains a workhorse and a top-10 fantasy back, projected at 16.1 points as the centerpiece of Baltimore’s offense. Meanwhile, James Cook finds himself in a tough spot, ranked RB18 and staring down a stout Ravens front, compounded by questions about his conditioning following his holdout.

Through the air, Zay Flowers offers WR18 value and should benefit from steady target volume, while Buffalo’s Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman enter Week 1 as risky WR3/flex options given their difficult matchups against Baltimore’s corners. At tight end, Mark Andrews sits as TE4 and remains a high-value option in a featured role, whereas Dalton Kincaid lands at TE15, carrying more volatility. Defensively, neither side projects well for fantasy purposes, making both units fade candidates in streaming lineups.

Fantasy Takeaways:

  • Fire up Lamar Jackson as a high-end QB2 with elite upside.
  • Trust Derrick Henry as a reliable RB1 anchor.
  • Keep Josh Allen locked into lineups, but lower expectations against Baltimore’s secondary.
  • Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews should be viewed as must-start pass-catchers.
  • Treat Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman as dart throws in WR3/flex spots.
  • Approach James Cook cautiously given the matchup and offseason concerns.
  • Steer clear of both defenses as fantasy starters this week.

Bills vs Ravens Game Predictions

Jackson wastes no time finding his rhythm, and Baltimore opens the campaign with a statement victory, flipping the script from last year’s heartbreak. The Ravens silence the Buffalo faithful and nudge ahead in the head-to-head history, now 8-6 in their favor.

Meanwhile, Derrick Henry proves nearly unstoppable, rumbling for triple-digit yardage and punching in at least one score, powered by the steady protection of standout left tackle Ronnie Stanley.

Oddsmakers see this one as nearly a coin flip, but they’re leaning slightly toward Buffalo. The Bills enter Sunday Night Football with a 52.3% probability of coming out on top, while the Ravens are pegged with a 47.3% chance of stealing the opener. A razor-thin margin remains for the rare possibility of a draw.
