Dallas comes in fresh off a nail-biting victory over the New York Giants, a primetime clash that delivered some of the most thrilling football of the season so far. Next up, they’ll try to carry that momentum into the Windy City.

For Chicago, things couldn’t have gone much worse in Week 2. The Bears were dismantled by the Detroit Lions, leaving the early days of the Ben Johnson era mired in disappointment. With back-to-back ugly losses, questions are already swirling about whether Caleb Williams is truly the long-term answer under center.

Chicago Bears team news

Things were bleak in Week 2 for the Bears, who ran into a buzzsaw against the Lions. Chicago's defense was overwhelmed from the jump, surrendering points in every quarter and watching Detroit pile up 28 by halftime in an eventual 52-21 beatdown. Rookie QB Caleb Williams finished 19-of-30 for 207 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, while D’Andre Swift chipped in 63 yards and a score on 12 carries.

The bright spot came from rookie wideout Rome Odunze, who turned heads with seven catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns. DJ Moore also contributed, adding five receptions for 46 yards in the losing effort.

The Bears' secondary has turned into a nightmare scenario. Jaylon Johnson, their Pro Bowl corner, is sidelined indefinitely with a groin injury that could require surgery and possibly shut the door on his season. To make matters worse, starting nickel Kyler Gordon has yet to see the field in 2025 thanks to a nagging hamstring issue. That leaves Chicago scrambling, with Tyrique Stevenson and ex-Cowboy Nahshon Wright now tasked with holding down the outside cornerback spots—a daunting assignment given the firepower they're about to face.

The Bears' issues aren't limited to their banged-up secondary either. Chicago sits dead last in defensive DVOA after two games, and their pass rush has been a no-show, struggling to lay a finger on opposing quarterbacks. That spells trouble with Lamb and the Dallas aerial attack looming.

Dallas Cowboys team news

The Cowboys found themselves in yet another rollercoaster divisional clash with the Giants on Sunday. Trailing 13-10 at halftime, Dallas clawed its way back in a frantic fourth quarter that ended 21-20 in favor of New York, forcing overtime. In the end, a clutch field goal sealed a nail-biting 40-37 win for the visitors. Dak Prescott was busy all afternoon, completing 38 of 52 passes for 361 yards with two touchdowns and a pick.

On the ground, Royce Williams paced the offense with 97 yards and a score on 18 carries, while CeeDee Lamb once again shined in the passing game, hauling in nine catches for 112 yards. Tight end Jake Ferguson also made his presence felt with nine receptions for 78 yards in the narrow victory.

Dallas should get a major lift with the anticipated return of center Cooper Beebe, shoring up the protection in front of Prescott and giving the offensive line some added stability. Meanwhile, Chicago is limping on defense, with T.J. Edwards banged up and several others either sidelined or being pushed back into action too soon. That mismatch sets the stage for the Cowboys to dictate the tempo from opening snap to final whistle.

Bears vs Cowboys Fantasy Football

Dak Prescott still has some wheels. He might not take off like he did during his early years—or before that gruesome ankle fracture in 2020—but Dak Prescott has shown this season that he can still maneuver when the pocket breaks down. Instead of tucking it and running, he's been using that mobility to extend plays and deliver the ball to his playmakers.

In Week 2, Prescott finished as fantasy’s QB6 with 22.1 points, completing 38 of 52 throws (a sharp 73.1%) for 361 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, while tacking on 17 rushing yards. With neither defense showing much bite through the first two weeks, this Week 3 clash has all the makings of a high-scoring affair.

Chicago's defense has already been lit up, surrendering QB1 weeks to J.J. McCarthy (22.2 points) and Jared Goff (34 points). That trend could continue if Prescott finds his rhythm early.

On the flip side, Caleb Williams has stumbled out of the gate. He's yet to complete even 65% of his passes or average more than 7.0 yards per attempt in either of his first two starts. His fantasy totals (12.4 and 14.3 points) have been salvaged largely by a rushing score in Week 1. The biggest thorn in his side? Pressure. Defenses have rattled him early, and until he figures out how to handle it, the rookie’s efficiency will remain an issue.

Through two weeks, CeeDee Lamb (13.1 projected W3 fpts) has piled up 16 catches for 222 yards, yet the end zone has eluded him. That streak feels destined to snap in a big way against Chicago’s shaky pass defense. Lamb has been a model of reliability to start the year, with his targets and yardage spread almost evenly across both outings.

Javonte Williams (12 projected W3 fpts)is off to a stunning start, with 45.4 fantasy points (third among RBs) as well as 31 rushing yards over expected.

Bears vs Cowboys Game Predictions

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys pulled off a shootout win over the Giants, edging them 40-37 in a Week 2 thriller. New York QB Russell Wilson lit up Dallas’ secondary for 450 yards and three scores, but it still wasn’t enough.

Defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus now heads back to Chicago, and while his unit has plenty to fix, it’s hard to imagine a tougher outing than what Ben Johnson endured in his return to Detroit. The Bears were run off the field in a 52-21 drubbing at the hands of the Lions.

This time around, Prescott looks poised to spread the ball around and lead Dallas to a statement win on the road. According to ESPN’s projections, Chicago has a 46.7% chance of snagging the Week 3 victory, with the rest of the probability going toward a potential tie.
